Cruising

Like in most countries sex in public places is not legal but the police tend to turn a blind eye as long as you are discreet. Gay bashing is sometimes a problem. If you see potential gay bashers or have been gay bashed do not hesitate to contact the police. Generally Copenhagen police officers are very tolerant towards gays and lesbians.

Ørstedsparken

The most important and most central cruising area in Copenhagen is Ørstedsparken, between the streets Nørre Voldgade and Nørre Farimagsgade. During the day cruising primarily takes place around the public toilets. From sunset till early morning the cruising is all over the park, but particularly around the trees at both sides of the bridge in the middle of the park.

Zigøjnerpladsen

Zigøjnerpladsen (the “Gypsy Square”) at Amager Fælled is a popular nature resort amongst gay men. Here gay men have sex year-round, but a lot of people also sun-bathe in the nude during summer. Zigøjnerpladsen is situated near the parking lot at the start of Lossepladsvej after entering from Artillerivej. Go by bicycle or by car, or take bus 35 or 250 to the bus end station, Islands Brygge.
